Ameridose Attends ISMP IV Compounding Safety Summit
As part of our ongoing commitment to support hospital patient safety initiatives, Ameridose attended the 2011 IV Compounding Safety Summit organized by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP). The Safety Summit was held on October 25th and 26thin Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania and was initiated to promote safe practices for the compounding of IV admixtures dispensed by hospital pharmacies.  At the event, educational presentations and discussions addressed the topics of USP 797 regulations, manual preparation of compounded sterile products, quality control of Compounded Sterile Preparations (CSPs), and safe use of technology in CSP preparation. 

ISMP works closely with healthcare practitioners and institutions, regulatory agencies, consumers, and professional organizations to provide education about medication errors and their prevention. The organization represents more than 35 years of experience in helping healthcare practitioners keep patients safe and continues to lead efforts to improve the medication use process.


Ameridose Presents Second and Third Quarter Sustainability Results
Ameridose is proud to announce strong sustainability results for the second and third quarters of 2011. Recycled materials generated from Ameridose facilities were close to half a million pounds for each quarter, with a combined total of 874,327 lbs. Corrugated cardboard was the most significant recycled material with 302,850 lbs, empty glass medical vials contributed 99,730 lbs, and LDPE #4 film amounted to 59,649 lbs.

Additional Ameridose sustainability efforts during the period included a facility-wide energy audit. As a result of the audit findings, Ameridose will install new energy efficient interior and exterior lighting at its facilities. Some of these new lighting units will feature digitally controlled LED lamps and motion sensor-activated high intensity fluorescent fixtures.

As part of its long-term energy program, Ameridose has installed a powerful onsite backup generator for production, giving its hospital clients additional peace of mind. “During the recent Hurricane Irene power outage suffered by millions in the Northeast, Ameridose was able to continue on with production as a result of its generator power which transitioned seamlessly to standby power for the entire facility throughout the storm,” stated Steve Higgins, responsible for Ameridose facility management. Ameridose Sponsors Education Session for Health Trust University Conference
Ameridose is pleased to have been an education sponsor for the HealthTrust University Conference & Vendor Fair on August 15-17 in Nashville, Tennessee. The 2011 event included the participation of 3,400 attendees and over 250 exhibitors. Ameridose has been an “on-contract” vendor for HealthTrust since 2008 and, of course, hosted a booth at the Vendor Fair.

Ameridose Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Presents at LSHP Annual Meeting
Ameridose, LLC, a leading nationwide provider of sterile admixing services to hospital pharmacies, is honored that Ameridose Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, Sophia Pasedis, PharmD, was invited to speak at the 2011 Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists (LSHP) Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Pasedis’ talk, Enhancing Patient Safety through USP <797> Compliance, covered the basics of USP <797> and offered tips on how to achieve continuous compliance improvement in today’s resource constrained environment.

Ameridose Named Supplier of Choice for Texas Purchasing Coalition
Ameridose, LLC, nationwide provider of sterile admixing services to hospital pharmacies, has been selected as supplier of choice for Texas Purchasing Coalition (TPC) hospitals.  The TPC Group currently includes 10 integrated delivery network healthcare systems with 27 facilities, together generating over $750 million in supply chain spend. While Ameridose has been working with several TPC hospitals, this March 1, 2011 agreement extends Ameridose sterile admixing services to all 27 TPC facilities.

Ameridose Reveals Strong First Quarter Sustainability Results
Ameridose, LLC, nationwide provider of sterile admixing services to hospital pharmacies, is pleased to share impressive sustainability results for the first quarter of 2011. The combined total of recycled materials generated from Ameridose facilities in the first quarter approached half a million pounds. Agreement with Novation
Ameridose is delighted to announce the signing of an agreement with Novation, LLC, effective January 1, 2011, which confers approved supplier status to Ameridose on behalf of Novation member facilities. Novation is the industry's leading health care contracting services company, providing supply contracting services to nearly 25,000 VHA and UHC member organizations and to 5,500 Provista members.

Ameridose Opens New State-of-the-Art Sterile Admixing Facility:Westborough, MA (January 2011) - Ameridose, LLC, nationwide provider of sterile admixing services to hospital pharmacies, is pleased to announce the opening of its third and newest manufacturing facility. Located in Westborough, MA, the new 70,000 sq. ft. facility has been constructed using the finest building materials and contains state-of-the-art clean room equipment. Ameridose management states that the facility is designed to be fully redundant with other Ameridose facilities in order to ensure the outstanding reliability that customers expect from Ameridose. The facility's operations also support Ameridose's aggressive sustainability goals by incorporating the latest in environmentally friendly features.

Clean room highlights in the new Westborough facility include an HVAC system with energy efficient condensing boilers and ultrasonic humidification as well as over 400 fan-powered HEPA filter units rated at 99.9% efficiency. The energy-efficient, natural gas-fired, infrared radiant heaters installed in the shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas feature motion sensor controls for even greater efficiency. The facility construction plan incorporated a recycling program which resulted in the recycling of over 90% of all construction-related waste. Now operational, the facility complies with Ameridose's corporate sustainability policy which requires the recycling of all paper, glass, metal, plastic, corrugated cardboard, wood, and computer/electronic waste.

"This is the largest, state-of-the-art sterile admixing and repackaging facility in the nation. The new facility expands our capacity to accommodate new business and to offer current customers the security of another redundant facility. Agreement with Phoenix Health Care Management Services for VHA Georgia
Ameridose is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Phoenix Health Care Management Services for VHA Georgia members effective August 1, 2010. Ameridose has enjoyed long-term relationships with a number of VHA Georgia member hospitals, and, through this letter of commitment, the benefits of outsourcing with Ameridose will now be available to all VHA Georgia members. VHA Georgia represents a third of not-for-profit hospitals and health care systems in Georgia, with its membership accounting for over 50 percent of Georgia's hospital admissions.

South Atlantic and East, West, and North Florida divisions designated Ameridose as sole source provider effective January 1, 2010. HCA is the nation’s leading provider of healthcare services with 163 locally managed facilities and 105 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England. 


FirstChoice Cooperative awarded a bid to Ameridose as a dual source provider. FirstChoice Cooperative has a network of almost 12,000 members nationwide through its affiliations and management agreements with other National Cooperatives which include healthcare providers, city and county municipalities, educational institutions, and community businesses that add additional purchasing volume and strength to FirstChoice Cooperative.
